Perfect wind and weather racing conditions added to the excitement.

Race One

  • Doug Simmons with Ted Sanchez on the helm
  • John Zaborsky & Carson on the helm
  • Tacking for position

  • The starting horn blasts.
  • They’re off!
  • Gaining the lead
  • Some pretty tacking
  • Hiking way out
  • Way to go Ted!
  • Wing on wing near the finish
  • Followed by John & Carson
  • After crossing the finish line ….
  • Ted & Doug manage to flip their boat.
  • Chase boats to the rescue
  • Todd Twigg jumps into action
  • Todd starting to right the boat
  • I think Todd has done this before.
  • Finally Todd and helpers right the boat before the next race.

Race Two

  • Race two had John Zaborsky with Carson on the helm racing against Duane Bordvick and Russ on the helm
  • Dee Dee Lozier, time keeper
    The starting horn blasts . . .
  • Tacking for position
  • John and Carson were slower off the blocks
  • Duane and Russ take an early lead
  • Spectators on the dock
  • Fast and steady
  • Duane and Russ first around the mark
  • Then back on the home stretch

Final Race

  • Winners of Race 2 – Russ Johnson at the helm with Duane Bordvick
  • Racing agains the winnners of Race 1 – Ted Sanchez with Doug Simmons at the helm
  • Russ and Doug were ahead from the starting blast.
  • And kept the lead thoughout the race.
  • That did not stop Ted and Doug from giving it their best
  • And having a lot of fun too
  • Trying to get their speed up
  • But careful not to flip again.
  • First around the mark
  • Then back on the home stretch
  • Winners of the Regatta, Duane and Russ
  • The Victors

Awards Ceremony

  • Commodore Zaborsky presents regatta awards
  • 1st in Race One and 2nd place overall, Doug and Ted
  • 1st in Race Two and 1st overall, Russ Johnson and Duane was probably home taking Ibuprofen for the pain.
  • 1st in Race Two and 1st overall, Russ Johnson. Duane was not present (probably at home taking Ibuprofen for the pain).
