Introducing our newest members
Ahoy Yachties. 2022. New year, new members. We are off to a great start! We are happy to introduce to the membership, our newest members, Maureen “Mo” and Barry Crist.
Introducing Maureen, “Mo”, and Barry Crist. Photo taken at Happy Island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and island cluster (country) in the Caribbean.
They are just in the process of purchasing a 45′ sailboat and have interests in cruising and racing.
From Maureen & Barry Crist
Maureen and Barry are primarily interested in sailing and cruising and have 25+ years boating. They are living on Lopez with their dog, Ruby. They also have two adult children living on their own. They are buying a Sweden Yacht 45 and plan to move it to Lopez Island. If you know of a slip becoming available, please contact them.
They plan to sail to the Sea of Cortez in 2022 or 2023. Barry has done some racing (CYC, R24K, WA380, and Round the County). They also did the Salty Dawg Rally in 2020 from the Chesapeake Bay to the Caribbean (Bermuda, Antigua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Bahamas, and Florida. This was, in part, the impetus of deciding to move to Lopez and free up more time for sailing adventures.
Maureen recently crewed a sailboat delivery from Anacortes to San Francisco.
There is no doubt that Maureen and Barry are a perfect pairing with our membership. After fulfilling the requirements outlined in the club bylaws, the governing board voted them in as members at the January Board meeting.
Please welcome Mo and Barry to the club, and let them know that you are a LIYC club member too.
