Ahoy Members, meet Johanna and Thomas!

Our connection to Lopez:

In July 2012 we spent a vacation on Orcas and San Juan Island. One day we came to Lopez to bike and were charmed by this very unique island. We saw a street sign ‘for sale’ and decided to take a look. When we saw the house, we fell in love with the view, the setting, and from one thing came the other – our future house. As we were still working in Belgium, the house was rented out. We became permanent residents in May 2022 and are slowly discover the wonders of Lopez.

Our boating interests are:

Thomas grew up in Kirkland and has been sailing for many years. Johanna grew up in Belgium and is more confident on ground. The power boating is new to both of us. We are taking courses with the Friday Harbor Power Squadron, which will help us to become better boaters.

Please say hello to Johanna and Thomas and welcome them into the club.

In accordance with the club’s By-laws, they have completed all the requirements of sending in their application, initiation fees, photo, etc. Publishing their photo and bio is the last step in the process. After ten days for comments from the membership, the governing board will vote for for membership.
