Announcing our newest club members
Ahoy Yachties. The Lopez Island Yacht Club membership is sprouting like spring daffodils. Our newest members were voted in as members by the Executive Board at the April 1st Board Meeting, having met all the requirements as applicants We are thrilled that they will be joining us for future club events.
At the end of their application they added that their boating interests were “fishing, crabbing, cruising, gunk-holing, and hanging out at the dock.” Sounds like our kind of people!
Please login in to read the bio and their message to our members.
From Bryan & Michelle Nelson
Hello! We are Bryan and Michelle Nelson. Over ten years ago, we chartered a sailboat for our honeymoon. We were setting out on our first boating trip together to the San Juan Islands. We had a wonderful time anchoring out at Spencer Spit and visiting the Lopez Island Farmers Market!
While on that trip, we vowed to get our own boat someday in order to spend as much time in the San Juan Islands as possible. That day finally came, last summer!
Our boating interests include wildlife viewing, kayaking, crabbing, and fishing. Michelle makes sure we pass by Whale Rocks on every trip. We love to spend the night on the hook, rafted up, or at the dock with friends. We are looking forward to making many more memories in the San Juans and most importantly, our favorite, Lopez Island.
