Hello Lopez Island Yacht Club Members!

To begin with I would like to wish a very heartfelt Happy New Year to all of you! And boy do we deserve a Happy New Year after the last two years! My name is Dusty Forster, your 2022 Commodore. I am honored and a bit nervous about this role, but I have a great supporting cast that will surely keep me on track. This will include our Vice Commodore Jan Wagner, Rear Commodore Bj & Pete Christensen, Secretary Arlene Sund, Treasurer Lane Langford, Staff Commodore John Zaborsky and Trustee Russ Johnson. We are fortunate to have another year with Barbara Carver as Membership Chair, Dave Welker as Reciprocals Chair, Judy Welker as Webmaster, Lane Langford as our Email Guru and Race Committee Chair Russ Johnson. 

I would like to extend a thank you from everyone in the entire club to John Zaborsky for leading us through another tough year of COVID restrictions. And for the wonderful job he and his wife Joyce did at our 2021 Christmas Party…Thank you John & Joyce! 

I am hopeful that we will be able to have all of our regular events this year, with that said we will be asking that everyone attending these events show proof of vaccination at this time. With some luck we hope we will be able to drop this requirement soon. Bj and Pete are working on what is shaping up to be a fabulous cruise this July. Jan and myself will be looking to book various speakers for our Member dinners. If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear from you.
