Ahoy Everyone!

GOOD NEWS!!!  Ann Einboden and two of her fellow San Juan Island Power Squadron members are planning to be her on Friday, April 30th to conduct the Coast Guard’s vessel safety check! They have done this for us three times before, so I am very pleased that they have agreed to willingly take the time and effort to come see us again. There is no charge.  AND, it will take place the Friday of our 2021 Opening Day Weekend, so hopefully it will help to “get us in the mood” for serious water fun this season.

Just click on this button and there you will find pretty much all the information you will need to prepare both you and your vessel for the inspection.

The way we have done it in the past is to begin at the Islander dock if that is where your boat is moored. If you are anchored out or moored nearby, just come to the outer breakwater. Then we move on to IMC, and check the boats moored there, and finally over to Spencer’s Landing. If you have a boat on a trailer in your driveway off in the woods somewhere we will make every attempt to come to your location. It would be even better if you could trailer it up to any one of the above mentioned marinas.

We usually begin by 10:00am and try to finish up by around 3:00pm.  Each vessel check takes about 15 – 20 minutes. Your reward will be that “magic sticker” that you display in your window. Believe me, it works. If the Coast Guard sees it, they will leave you alone.

What I would like is for you to let me know if you are interested. Please send me all the pertinent info about your boat and it’s location. As we get closer to the day, I will have a schedule for you of inspections. It is necessary for you to be present on your boat at time of inspection. We will do our best to adhere to the schedule, which may be a bit fluid.

Thanks, everyone. Enjoy the Springtime and let’s all look forward to that water!!!

I look forward to hearing from you.
