Docking and Maneuvering Clinic

Licensed Captain and certified boating instructor Aaron Johnson, will present high-level key concepts of docking and maneuvering. The key concepts will parallel a departure from with an arrival at a dock in the most common scenarios of the Pacific Northwest, and in particular the San Juan Islands. Along the way we will discuss:
1) Communication plan and clear boating language
2) How to prep lines for departure
3) Throttle controls (including thrusters)
4) Manuevering in a harbor (reverse and standing turns)
5) Secret Formulas for approaching a slip
6) Securing your boat
