Both of us began sailing as children on fresh water lakes with our families in Oregon and Ohio in a Geary 18 and a 16 foot Snipe. We continued the sailing adventure with our own kids on windsurfers in the summer and eventually followed our curiosity by taking sailing classes out of Shilshole Marina. We began chartering boats out of Bellingham exploring the beauty of the San Juan and Gulf Islands followed by some adventures on chartered boats in the British Virgin Islands and the Sea of Cortez. We now have a 53 foot Dufour Moonrise Kingdom based out of Shilshole and enjoy day trips as well as longer cruises north. We had the joy of joining the Lopez Island Yacht Club in 2023 in Desolation Sound for a few days and last summer joined the Seattle Yacht Club in Barclay Sound. We would be honored to be a part of the Lopez Island Yacht Club’s adventures this summer and ongoing. We have loved sharing several sailing adventures with our close friends, Barry and Maureen Crist.
