I hope you all had a wonderful summer of cruising adventures!

We all look forward to hearing your boating stories and please share your photos with short captions on our website by sending them to our Webmaster at dustyforster@gmail.com

The club had a great turnout for the summer cruise to the Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound, 17 boats and 45 folks attended. Thanks to our Rear Commodore, Mo Crist, for her excellent planning! There is still time to enjoy more boating with our beautiful early fall weather. Whether by paddleboard or kayak, row boat, sailboat or power craft this is one of the best seasons of the year! It is such a treat to view the fall tree colors while slow cruising in calm waters or for the sailors, maybe filling your sails when the winds pick up.

We have gained new members this year and I would like to welcome them to our club and please reach out to meet them at our upcoming September 18 Membership Meeting:

I’ll be wearing two hats until next year, taking on the role of Commodore four months early, while also continuing as Vice Commodore. With your help it will be smooth sailing! I”ll see you at our next membership meeting to be held at the Islander Resort at 5:30pm, September 18. Remember to sign up on our website. We will enjoy Russ Johnson’s presentation on

“Renovating a 100 year old canal barge in France”. Russ is a great story teller and this is one evening you do not want to miss!

Make sure to come out and cheer for the sailboats racing in our annual “ Lopez Cup” on Saturday, September 13. There is a good viewing spot at the beach end of the Land Bank Preserve across from the Village. The race starts at noon at the opening to Fisherman Bay. There are more details on the race from our sailing chair, Barry Christ, on the website.

See you on the water!

Suzi Jennnings, Commodore
