A Poem For Lane
Lane keeps our ledgers tight and true, Pays every bill that comes on through, Creates our budget, spreadsheet neat, Makes sure our club stays on its feet. With brush in hand, brings art to life, And music soothes both joy and strife, At raffles, meetings, every call, Lane’s steady presence guides us all. As Commodore back in ’16, Led the cruise—though unforeseen, Ran aground (we still attest!) But proved great leaders navigate the rest. From safety checks to dinner lists, No detail missed, none dismissed, Our Treasurer, friend, and faithful guide— Lane Langford: our club’s heart and pride.

Lane is so important to our yacht club and has been for many years. Always involved, always willing to help and guide. When we joined more than ten years ago, it was Lane who came up to us at dinners making us feel welcome when we knew almost no one. A club just cannot survive with volunteers and he has been the best! Thank you Lane.
